New to Crew?
This event opens the competitive portion of our season and is an excellent way to meet other rowing parents while cheering on the athletes. There will be plenty of downtime to socialize and help prepare the team chuckwagon for our upcoming season.
Families:
Bring the whole family as you join us to watch the scrimmage from Channel Drive on Davis Island! We’ll set up to view the event in Davis Islands around 7:30am, and we’ll have coffee and donuts. The team's Chuckwagon (CW) trailer will be onsite, and we will use the time between races to clean it out and get it ready for the upcoming regattas.
Athletes:
Arrival: Please arrive at the JBL boathouse (Tampa Prep Bay) by 6:30 AM. The first race will be at 8:30 (men's freshmen 4+) but we will need to warm up, set up launches, equipment, and go over the race strategy for the day. We’ll have bagels and fruit available there.
-
Athletes: Please wear a uni. If you don't have one, a red Tampa Prep shirt with spandex shorts will suffice. Please also bring a hat.
Parents: It’s hot- dress for comfort!
-
The course is a 3.5K, and boasts what may be the sharpest turn in the nation. This is a very short head race.

None at this event- Show up ready to chat and learn how you can help throughout the season! We are a volunteer-run organization and the success of our athletes is predicated on the participation of parents and families.
